1.The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR “ ).

2. The Rotary Club of Ripon (“ the Club “) is the data controller and decides how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

3. The Club complies with its obligations under the GDPR by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining data without legitimate reasons for doing so; by protecting data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure and by ensuring that the appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

4. The Club uses your personal data for communication of news, events , activities and rider’s information associated with Ripon Rotary Bike Ride . You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by visiting the website Newsletter section.

5. The legal basis for processing your personal data is your explicit consent or the processing of it is necessary to comply with legal obligations. Personal financial information may be collected in specific circumstances where lawful and necessary (e.g. in order to process payment of money ).

If the Club wishes to use your personal data for a new purpose not covered by this Data Protection Statement, then the Club will provide you with a notice explaining the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, the Club will seek your prior consent to the new processing.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies (small files stored on your computer’s hard drive) to store confidentail information or track the activity of external users. However, cookies may be used as follows:

1. In common with almost all websites, a randomly-generated string of characters is generated by the server and saved on the user’s computer as a ‘Session ID’ so that the server knows where to send pages when they are requested by the user. The Session ID is deleted when the visitor closes their browser or after about 20 minutes of browser inactivity, whichever occurs first.

2. A cookie is generated to retain the state of navigation of menus between pages, for user convenience when moving from page to page. This information is removed from the visitor’s computer after the visitor leaves the site.
